Over fifteen thousand security personnel have been mobilized to secure the conduct of the Weekend Local Government election in Oyo State.
The Chairman Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, Aare Isiaka Olagunju, SAN disclosed this at the distribution of sensitive materials ahead of the elections.
Addressing newsmen at the distribution of sensitive materials ahead of the April 27 2024 Local Government elections in the state, the Chairman Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, Aare Isiaka Olagunju reiterated the determination of the commission to conduct a credible and acceptable poll.
He maintained that forty thousand adhoc staff have been trained for the conduct of the election across the six thousand three hundred and ninety three polling units across the thirty Three council areas in the state.
Aare Olagunju who disclosed that the commission had started the distribution of non-sensitive materials since Monday 22nd of April noted that the various political parties interested in the election are showing necessary cooperation.
Aare Olagunju further hinted that there will be restriction of human and vehicular movements from 8am to 3pm period of the election.
