The 1979-1984 set of Progressive Secondary Grammar School, Ado-Awaye, will on Friday, 15th November 2024, return to their Alma mater to celebrate the institution that produced them as secondary school leavers Forty years ago.
The group which had renovated one of the buildings in the School about two years ago will on Friday present sixty chairs and desks for the use of one hundred and twenty students.
According to a statement signed on behalf of the group by Mogaji Soladoye Akeem Adewole ,the 1979-1984 set Social Prefect and currently the Public Relations Officer of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, pep talk on Career Development will be held with the students as well as general talks on Disciplines and Development of the school.
The group will also pay homage on the Traditional Ruler of the town, Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, the Alado of Ado-Awaye, who is also an old student of the School. The group will also observe Jumat Service in the town.
On Saturday, 16th November 2024, the set will also join the Alado of Ado-Awaye in celebrating the 2024 Iyake International Festival and equally join other tourists in climbing the Ado-Awaye Mountain to see the Iyake Lake, the only one in the entire World, the second one being the one in Colorado,USA which is an artificial Lake.
After the mountain climbing exercise, the group will re-assemble in the School where Awards will be presented to Mr AJAMU Emmanuel Ayoade, their Vice Principal who later retired as Permanent Secretary in the service of Oyo State.
Two other former teachers, Mr Adeleke Solomon Oyeleke and Mr Oguntowo Ademola Oguntoye, will also be honoured during the reunion.
The reunion will end on Sunday, 17th November 2024, with a church service at the Baptist Church , Ado-Awaye.E-signed.
