Fubara Visits Wike, Prostrates Before Him

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

According to Premium Times, Fubara visited Wike at his Abuja home on recently, to beg for reconciliation.

The visit came shortly after Fubara met with President Bola Tinubu in London to discuss the political tension between him and Wike.

Fubara was taken to Wike’s residence by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and former Ogun governor, Olusegun Osoba.

During the visit, Fubara reportedly went down on his knees and prostrated before Wike, holding his legs and addressing him with deep respect, calling him “My Oga”.

He remained at Wike’s residence until the early hours of the following day.

This visit followed President Tinubu’s declaration of emergency rule in Rivers State and the suspension of Fubara and other elected officials for an initial period of six months, as part of efforts to stop the crisis from escalating.

While the exact details of the meeting were not made public, sources familiar with the matter revealed that Fubara was advised to return to Rivers and speak openly with his supporters, especially the elders, about the issues between him and Wike.

Spokespersons from both camps have remained silent on what was discussed.

Wike’s media aide confirmed the meeting happened but gave no further comment.

Fubara’s spokesman declined to respond to inquiries, and efforts to reach the Rivers State Commissioner for Information were not successful.
