As Muslims across the globe mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447, the Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Wahab Adetunji (WABKEM), has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah within and beyond the council area.

In a goodwill message released on Friday, Hon. WABKEM described the Islamic New Year as a time of reflection, renewal, and recommitment to values of peace, piety, and service to humanity.

“As we welcome Hijrah 1447, I join our Muslim brothers and sisters in giving thanks to Almighty Allah for the gift of life, health, and faith,” he said. “This sacred season reminds us of the historic migration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which was a defining moment of sacrifice, patience, and hope for a better future.”

The council chairman urged Muslims to draw inspiration from the lessons of the Hijrah and continue to promote unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence in their communities. He also emphasized the importance of prayer for the nation, particularly in the face of current economic and social challenges.

“Let this new year be an opportunity to strengthen our resolve for good governance, mutual understanding, and community development. I urge all residents, regardless of religion, to work together for the peace and progress of Atiba Local Government and Oyo State at large,” Hon. WABKEM added.
