The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has joined a multitude of well-wishers nationwide in congratulating his principal, the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his esteemed wife, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, on their recent elevation to the titles of Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom, bestowed upon them by His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure.
In a statement made available to the public through his chief Media Aide, Ogundipe Miracle, Hon. Akinleye described this honor as a “significant and well-earned recognition” of Governor Makinde’s lasting legacy of service, exceptional leadership, and commitment to the Omoluabi ethos.
“Governor Seyi Makinde epitomizes the core values cherished by the Yoruba race; integrity, bravery, wisdom, and compassion,” Hon Akinleye remarked. “This latest chieftaincy title from the esteemed Deji of Akure serves as a strong affirmation of his character and a testament to the positive impact he continues to have through his people oriented governance.”
Hon. Akinleye, who leads one of the prominent local governments(Akinyele) in Oyo State, acknowledged that the Governor’s influence transcends politics and geographic boundaries, resonating with traditional institutions and citizens throughout Yorubaland and Nigeria as a whole.
“The accomplishments of His Excellency in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic advancement are commendable. Yet, beyond these initiatives, it is his humility, vision, and people-centered leadership that truly set him apart,” he added.
He also conveyed special congratulations to Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, the First Lady of Oyo State, on her recognition as Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom, commending her for her elegance, grace, and significant contributions to the welfare of women, children, and families.
“Her Excellency, the First Lady, has consistently been a strong support for her husband and a symbol of compassion and resilience in her own right. Her recognition is well-deserved and represents the dignity and value she brings to both public service and family life,” he stated.
According to the Council Chairman, the title Aare Omoluabi, which means “Champion of Honourable Virtue,” goes beyond mere ceremony. It embodies a leadership approach grounded in cultural principles and ethical integrity.
“This title not only reinforces their commitment to serving the people but also cements their role as unifying figures within Yorubaland. I take pride in working alongside such visionary and values-driven leadership,” Hon. Akinwole Akinleye concluded.
