The Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Wahab Adetunji WABKEM, has heartily congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, and his wife, Engr. (Mrs.) Tamunominini Makinde, on their conferment as Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of the ancient Akure Kingdom.
Hon. WABKEM, in a statement released from the council headquarters in Oyo Alaafin, described the chieftaincy honours as a resounding affirmation of Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to the core values of Yoruba culture — Omoluabi ethos, communal service, integrity, and humility.
“As sons and daughters of Oyo, a kingdom deeply rooted in the custodianship of Yoruba heritage, we are proud that our own Governor has been honoured in Akure, another significant cultural capital within Yorubaland,” WABKEM said. “It is a reflection of our shared cultural empathy and unity across Yoruba-speaking territories.”
The Atiba chairman also praised the First Lady for her consistent humanitarian work and advocacy for the vulnerable, stating that her recognition as Yeye Aare Omoluabi speaks to the nurturing spirit of Yoruba womanhood — compassionate, resilient, and supportive.
WABKEM further noted that the titles conferred on the Makinodes transcend ceremonial recognition; they serve as a call to sustain the promotion of Yoruba identity, traditional values, and inter-kingdom solidarity.
He prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the Governor and his wife, expressing optimism that Oyo State will continue to be a beacon of cultural pride and progressive leadership under their stewardship.
