A foremost 2027 gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Hon. Oluseye Opatoki, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his amiable wife, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on their recent conferment as Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom.
The titles were bestowed by His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure, in recognition of the couple’s distinguished contributions to leadership, governance, and moral uprightness.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Hon. Opatoki described the honour as “a richly deserved validation of Governor Makinde’s deep-rooted commitment to the ideals of servant leadership, cultural pride, and development-oriented governance.”
“Governor Makinde is not just a leader for our time, he is a blueprint for the future. The honour conferred on him by the Deji of Akure is yet another testament to his towering influence, not just in Oyo State but across Yorubaland,” Hon. Opatoki noted.
As one of the prominent political figures emerging from the PDP fold, Hon. Opatoki emphasized that the Governor’s elevation further strengthens the moral foundation of the PDP in Oyo State and presents a leadership standard to emulate.
“In a time when integrity and empathy are scarce in politics, Governor Makinde continues to lead with vision, purpose, and heart. His elevation as Aare Omoluabi affirms what we in Oyo already know—he is a beacon of excellence, humility, and people-first governance.”
Hon. Opatoki also showered encomiums on the First Lady, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, whose conferment as Yeye Aare Omoluabi he described as “a graceful recognition of her unwavering devotion to humanitarian causes and family values.”
“Her Excellency has been a formidable force behind various life-changing initiatives in women empowerment, maternal health, and family development. Her royal title is well-earned and long overdue,” he added.
Reiterating the deeper meaning behind the Omoluabi title, Hon. Opatoki noted that the honour speaks to a timeless Yoruba ideal—honour without arrogance, power with compassion, and leadership with service.
“This is not just a title—it is a cultural endorsement. It reinforces the place of Governor Makinde and his wife as moral compasses within our collective journey toward a more dignified, inclusive, and prosperous Oyo State,” he concluded.
