Oloye Akika Receives Lagelu Lawmakers, Urges Constituency-First Mindset

Oloye Benedict Akika, the AgbaAkin of Olorunda-Aba and founder of the Omituntun Benedict Foundation, on Tuesday, August 12, received members of the Lagelu Local Government Legislative Arm during a courtesy visit to his Omituntun House at Delight Estate, Olorunda-Abaa, Akobo.

The delegation, comprising all councillors representing the wards in Lagelu Local Government, was led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Idogbe Aduragbemi Emmanuel, and the Deputy Leader, Hon. Adesunbo Babatunde Gold.

Speaking individually, the lawmakers commended Chief Akika for his impactful contributions to the community, the local government, and Oyo State. They highlighted his empowerment programmes for widows, elders, and youths; educational support initiatives; commitment to community and religious development; and his efforts in fostering peace.

In his remarks, Chief Akika expressed appreciation for the visit and encouraged the legislators to exercise patience in their service, prioritising the welfare and progress of the local government above all.

He further advised them to remain loyal to the Executive Chairman of Lagelu LGA, Sen Qamardeen Mudashiru, to the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, and to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
