The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, calling for unity, resilience, and collective action in building a stronger nation.

In his Independence Day goodwill message, Hon. Sanda described October 1st as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s founding fathers, whose vision and courage secured freedom and laid the foundation for national unity.

“Today is a moment to reflect on our journey as a nation, celebrate our achievements, and reaffirm our commitment to building a brighter future,” he said.

While acknowledging the nation’s challenges, including economic hardship, insecurity, and social tensions, the council boss stressed that true progress can only be achieved through unity and collective responsibility.

He urged leaders at all levels of government to prioritize the welfare of the people, while encouraging Nigerians to embrace diversity, foster peace, and actively contribute to community development.

“With optimism and resolve, we can create a Nigeria where prosperity is shared, safety is assured, and every citizen is empowered to succeed. May our country overcome its challenges and continue to shine as a beacon of hope for future generations,” Hon. Sanda declared.

He also extended warm greetings to the people of Egbeda LGA, charging them to uphold the values of unity, patriotism, and peace.
