Hon. Sanda Commissions New Amotekun Office To Bolster Security In Egbeda

In a bold demonstration of his administration’s commitment to grassroots security and good governance, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, has commissioned a new operational office of the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) at Ogbere Moradeyo, Ward 11, Egbeda Local Government.

The ceremony, held amidst excitement from residents and community leaders, marked another milestone in the local government’s strategic efforts to combat insecurity and promote peace across all wards.

The Oyo State Amotekun Commander, represented by Combatant Mogaji Akinro, officially declared the new facility open for immediate operations. He expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership and to Hon. Sanda, who also serves as the Chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State (ALGON), for his steadfast dedication to securing lives and property at the grassroots.

“The efforts of Hon. Sanda in tackling insecurity in Egbeda deserve commendation,” Mogaji Akinro stated. “His proactive leadership and genuine commitment have made the local government a model for others in ensuring community safety.”

Prominent indigenes of Ogbere Moradeyo also hailed the chairman’s initiative, pledging full cooperation with the Amotekun Corps to ensure effective community policing and the protection of residents.

In his remarks, Hon. Sanda reaffirmed that security remains the foundation of peace and development, stressing that his administration is fully aligned with Governor Makinde’s vision of a safe and prosperous Oyo State.

“Security is the bedrock of peace and progress. Under Governor Makinde’s purposeful leadership, our people can sleep with their eyes closed. This new Amotekun office will further strengthen our collective security network,” he said.

As part of his empowerment drive for local security agencies, Hon. Sanda donated a brand-new motorcycle to enhance the mobility and rapid response capacity of the Amotekun Corps within the area. He emphasized that the gesture underscores his administration’s unwavering resolve to support security operatives with the necessary logistics and tools to protect lives and property.

“If you notice any suspicious movement in your environment, please report immediately to the Amotekun office,” he advised residents. “They are here to protect you; they are your partners in ensuring peace.”

The commissioning ceremony attracted notable dignitaries, including the Deputy Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola; Vice Chairman, Egbeda LGA, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple; Chief of Staff, Egbeda LGA, Hon. Ladi Siyanbola (KB); HLGA, Alh. Monsurat Alaga; as well as councilors, supervisors, traditional rulers, and religious leaders who lauded the chairman’s vision for a safer Egbeda.

With the establishment of the Amotekun office, Egbeda Local Government has taken another decisive step toward realizing a more secure, peaceful, and development-driven future under the leadership of Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda.
