Ogbomoso Fire Emergency Team Saves Man After Early-Morning Well Accident

The Ogbomoso Fire Station on Monday, December 1, 2025, successfully rescued a 27-year-old man who fell into a deep well at Ire Akari, Adeniran area of Ogbomoso.

The incident was reported at exactly 7:00 a.m. by a distress caller, Mr. Ajayi Olayemi, who alerted the emergency team that an individual had slipped into a well.

Upon receiving the call, firefighters led by Chief Fireman (CFM) Oladejo quickly mobilized to the scene. The victim, identified as Alagbe Gbemisoye, was recovered from the well and safely handed over to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Owode Police Station for further necessary action.

Officials confirmed that the rescue operation was completed without complications, and the fire appliance returned to base safely.

The Special Adviser on Fire Reform and Chairman, Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, used the opportunity to urge residents to prioritize safety in their daily activities. He also emphasized the importance of installing functional fire extinguishers in homes and business premises, especially during the dry season when fire risks are higher.
