Residents of Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State came out in their numbers on Thursday evening as the council hosted a Christmas Carol fanfare that charged the atmosphere with entertainment and fun.

The event, held at the local government secretariat Idi-Ayunre, witnessed families, youths, community leaders and faith based groups who gathered to celebrate the season through music, entertainment, prayers and fellowship.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, said the carol fanfare was organised to bring residents together and remind them of the shared values of love, unity and compassion.

He noted that beyond politics, governance, and infrastructure, creating moments that strengthen communal bonds remained a priority of his administration.

According to him, Christmas provides an opportunity for sober reflection and collective gratitude, especially in challenging times, adding that the council would continue to support programmes that promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence across communities in the local government area.

Religious leaders present at the event offered prayers for the local government, Oyo State and the country at large, urging residents to use the season to show kindness to one another and extend support to the less privileged.

Many residents who spoke, described the carol as timely and uplifting. A resident who simply identified as Mrs Daramola Olufunke, said the fanfare helped to ease the pressures of the year and created a rare opportunity for families to relax together in a safe environment.
