The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has summoned Aliko Dangote to appear before an investigative panel on Monday in Abuja over a petition he submitted.
Dangote had filed a petition against Farouk Ahmed, the former Managing Director of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, alleging corruption.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reported that a source within the Commission, who confirmed the development on Sunday in Abuja, disclosed that the ICPC had constituted an investigative panel to handle the matter.

According to the source, the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Musa Aliyu, SAN, has also directed the panel to prioritise Dangote’s petition.
The business mogul is expected to appear in person or be represented by his lawyer, Ogwu Onoja, SAN, and present his evidence when the ICPC formally begins its investigation of the petition.
Dangote accused Farouk Ahmed of corruption and misappropriation of funds, including allegedly spending millions of dollars on the education of his four children in costly and exclusive schools in Switzerland.
He further alleged that Ahmed weakened domestic refining efforts by colluding with international traders and oil importers through the continued issuance of import licences.
The ICPC has requested Dangote to submit all relevant evidence to support his allegations to the anti-graft agency.
Farouk Ahmed has since resigned from his position, but the Commission stated that the investigation would proceed, noting that his resignation does not affect the probe.
The petition further alleges that Ahmed spent, without proof of lawful income, sums exceeding seven million dollars on the education of his four children in Switzerland.
Dangote is calling for the arrest, investigation, and prosecution of Farouk Ahmed for allegedly living beyond his legitimate means as a public officer.
The Commission’s spokesperson, John Okor Odey, confirmed that the ICPC received a formal petition from Dangote, through his lawyer, on December 16, 2025, against the former Chief Executive Officer of the NMDPRA.
