

In a renewed push to promote women’s health and community development, the Wife of the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Mrs. Monsurat Abiola Sanda, has organized a comprehensive Women/Health Medical Outreach and awareness talk for residents.
The initiative provided free medical check-ups, health screenings, and professional consultations, alongside educational sessions focused on preventive healthcare, maternal health, nutrition, and overall wellness. Women from across the local government area turned out in large numbers to benefit from the services and expert guidance offered during the programme.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Sanda underscored the importance of prioritizing women’s health as a cornerstone for building strong families and a thriving society. She reaffirmed her commitment to initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and healthcare access of women in Egbeda Local Government.

Health professionals at the outreach highlighted key preventive measures. Dr. Oyedare Elizabeth of the Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), Egbeda Local Government, stressed the importance of regular medical check-ups and early detection of common illnesses. In a separate session, Mrs. Oladepo Oladunni educated participants on healthy eating habits and the value of balanced nutrition in maintaining overall well-being.
The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, commended Mrs. Sanda for spearheading the initiative. He described the outreach as a laudable effort toward strengthening preventive healthcare and expanding access to essential medical services at the grassroots level. He also applauded residents for their impressive turnout and active participation, encouraging them to continue taking advantage of similar programmes designed to enhance community well-being.
The event attracted several dignitaries and stakeholders, including Dr. Alaga Ayo Monsurat (HLGA); Alhaja Y.K. Abass, wife of the Babaloja General of Oyo State; Mrs. Oluokun of Oyo East Local Government; Mrs. Eunice Oyedokun of Ogbomosho South Local Government; Deaconess Olubunmi Kolapo of Ona Ara; and Mrs. Balqeez Olatunji, Chairperson of Oluyole Local Government. Also present were heads of departments and their deputies, the wife of the Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Mrs. Idowu Oladebo; the Supervisor for Women Affairs, Hon. Balikis; wives of councillors; PDP women leaders in Egbeda; representatives of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Community Development Committees (CDC), market women associations, orphanage homes, non-governmental organizations, and members of the Egbeda Medical Team.
The outreach reflects the local government’s continued dedication to health awareness, women’s empowerment, and sustainable community development.
