I trust you are well and holding steady in these challenging economic times.
Over the past weeks, we have continued the work of governance guided by principle and responsibility. One clear demonstration of this was the commissioning of 540 newly constructed market stalls in Ibadan North Local Government Area, which I attended as Special Guest of Honour.
For some time now, we have maintained a simple position regarding street trading. We cannot, in good conscience, halt this activity until a viable alternative is created. Reform must not punish before it provides.

That alternative is now taking shape.
These 540 stalls, built by Ibadan North LG Council, represent a structured approach to market organisation. This is how meaningful reform should happen, through preparation, consultation and provision. Government must not merely issue directives; it must create pathways. Promises must not merely be spoken; they must be fulfilled.
I remain committed to governance that plans before it acts and delivers before it demands compliance. That is the standard I hold myself to, and it is the standard the good people of Oyo State deserve.
It is against this backdrop of responsibility that I also reflect on the present political climate. You are well aware of the challenges within our great party, the PDP. At various times, I have acknowledged and apologised for my role in circumstances that contributed to the current situation. Leadership requires accountability, and I do not shy away from that responsibility.
I remain committed to doing everything within my power to help resolve the issues confronting our party. Stability within political institutions is not merely a party matter; it affects democratic confidence and the direction of our nation.
In times like this, it is natural for speculation to grow. You will continue to hear different stories. You will see claims about what I will or will not do. Such speculation is part of politics.
But as always, I will speak for myself.
In my usual transparent manner, when decisions are taken and plans are firm, they will be shared directly with the good people of Oyo State and with our followers across Nigeria and the globe.
I ask you to keep the faith. We have faced difficult seasons before. We have built through them. We have prevailed through them.
Joy, indeed, cometh in the morning.
And when it comes, it will not be accidental. It will be the result of discipline, courage and steady leadership.
Talk to you again soon.
