The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has commenced the 2026 administrative year with the presentation of cheques to Community Development Councils (CDCs) across the local government area, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots development.

The chairman, who was represented at the event by the Supervisory Councillor for Youth and Sports, Hon. Adio Babatunde, described the disbursement as a fulfillment of promises previously made to community stakeholders.

According to him, the financial support is aimed at strengthening community-driven projects, enhancing local participation in governance, and promoting sustainable development initiatives within the council area.

“This New Year gesture symbolizes our appreciation for the unwavering support of our communities and our shared commitment to continuity in developmental projects,” the representative said. “Together, we will continue to position Egbeda as a model of excellence, transparency, and rapid development.”

Chairman of the CDC in Egbeda, Alhaji Ayobami Salam, commended Oyedele’s leadership style, describing him as “Mr. Talk and Do” in recognition of what he called the chairman’s consistent delivery on campaign promises.

“In a time when many leaders make promises without results, he has demonstrated that leadership must be measured by visible impact and tangible development,” Salam said. He cited ongoing grassroots empowerment efforts, infrastructural improvements, and sustained community engagement as evidence of the administration’s performance.
