As a youth mobilizer deeply committed to the progress and stability of Oyo State, I have come to recognize that the future of our dear state lies in the hands of leaders who combine intellect, integrity, and proven service. In this regard, Prof. Dahud Kehinde Shangodoyin clearly stands out as a worthy successor to the enduring legacy of Governor Seyi Makinde.
When leadership is built on knowledge and experience, it inspires confidence. Prof. Shangodoyin, a distinguished Professor of Statistics, has consistently demonstrated excellence across both academia and public service. His track record as a former Commissioner in critical ministries Education, Works, and Establishment & Training speaks volumes about his administrative depth and versatility.
Today, as Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, he continues to break new ground. His role as Acting Chairman of the Oyo State Electricity Regulatory Commission underscores his strategic importance in shaping the state’s energy future. Notably, his leadership in advancing the 12MW Ibadan Independent Power Project and championing electricity reforms, including rural electrification initiatives, reflects a forward-looking vision anchored in sustainable development.
Beyond titles and achievements, what truly distinguishes Prof. Shangodoyin is his character. A proud son of Ibadan, he embodies humility, accessibility, and a people-first approach to governance. As youths, our role is to support leadership that guarantees continuity without compromising progress. The strides made under Governor Makinde must not only be preserved but expanded, and this requires a tested hand someone who understands the system and has contributed meaningfully to its success.
