Top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today held a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The meeting, which took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, brought together the PDP National Chairman, Taminu Turaki, former governors, and other influential party figures.

The gathering has continued to spark strong political interest due to the timing and the personalities involved.

Although details of the discussion were not made public, political observers believe the meeting is closely linked to recent developments within the PDP.
The party has been facing internal pressure, leadership concerns, and strategic realignments ahead of future political contests.
Turaki arrived at the Obasanjo Presidential Library on Saturday, December 13, 2025, accompanied by a high-powered delegation. Among those present were former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu and former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang.
Also in attendance was former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Taofeek Arapaja, alongside other senior party stakeholders.
Sources around the venue described the meeting as private and tightly coordinated, with no official briefing released afterward.
Efforts to get comments from the PDP leadership were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
