The Oyo State Fire Services Agency, through his Chairman, Hon. Akinwande Maruf has expressed profound gratitude to God and the people of the state for the successful completion of the year 2025, while reaffirming its commitment to improved safety and emergency response in 2026.
In a New Year message, the agency appreciated the gift of life and divine grace that sustained its leadership, personnel, and residents of Oyo State throughout the outgoing year.
The agency noted that the modest achievements recorded in 2025 were largely made possible through the cooperation, encouragement, and unwavering support of stakeholders and members of the public, whom it described as its major source of inspiration.
Special appreciation was extended to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, for his consistent support and leadership, which the agency described as the backbone of its successes.
According to the message, the governor’s approvals, timely interventions, and provision of safety and rescue infrastructure have significantly enhanced public safety and emergency preparedness across the state.
The agency added that the governor’s policies and programmes have created a secure and enabling environment for residents, raising the standard of fire prevention and rescue services in Oyo State.
Reiterating its commitment to the people, the Fire Services Agency assured residents that 2026 would witness improved service delivery and better performance compared to the previous year.
The agency also commended the management and workforce of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, from the General Manager, Mr. Akinyinka Akinyemi Taiwo, to officers and men across the state, describing them as the strength and driving force behind its operational successes.
It concluded by wishing residents of Oyo State a safe, peaceful, and prosperous New Year.
