The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has reinforced his administration’s commitment to grassroots development with fresh interventions in the education sector.
As part of an education and community support initiative, the chairman presented a cheque of ₦2 million to the Awaye Community Development Association. The fund is intended to improve educational infrastructure, promote academic excellence, and support sustainable development within the Awaye community.
In a related development, Oyedele extended additional support to Oyo State Teaching Service Commission Zone 3 by donating a laptop and a generator set. The items are expected to enhance administrative efficiency, facilitate digital record-keeping, and ensure uninterrupted operations despite persistent power supply challenges.
Speaking during the presentations, the council chairman reaffirmed that education remains a central focus of his administration. He stressed that long-term development can only be achieved through sustained investment in human capital, noting that empowering educational institutions and stakeholders is critical to securing the future of the local government.
The Baale of Awaye, Sunday Olukayode Akintunde, commended the chairman for his consistent support, describing him as a pragmatic and visionary leader dedicated to practical solutions and sustainable progress.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of TESCOM Zone 3, Sarah Adeyemi, who was represented by Tijani Ahmed Olakunle, expressed appreciation for the intervention. She lauded Oyedele’s commitment to improving education standards, noting that the provision of essential resources reflects a genuine concern for both students and teachers.
According to her, the chairman’s proactive approach and strategic investments in the education sector underscore his determination to build a more empowered and educated generation.
The latest intervention further highlights Oyedele’s efforts to prioritise education, strengthen community development, and promote inclusive growth across Egbeda Local Government.
