The Allied People’s Movement (APM) candidate for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has declared that the party is targeting a landslide victory that would leave no room for post-election disputes.

This was as he continues to intensify grassroots mobilisation across communities in different wards in the federal constituency.

Olatunji made the declaration on Sunday during the party’s ward tour of Wards 3 and 4 in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, where party leaders and supporters engaged residents and welcomed a fresh wave of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors, led by Mr. Ibikunle Morruf, were formally received into the APM fold at Ward 3 amid assurances of inclusion and equal opportunities within the party.

Addressing party faithful, Olatunji expressed confidence in the growing support base of the APM and the unity among its members ahead of the 2027 elections.

“What we are working on is not just victory but a landslide victory so convincing that nobody will have any basis to challenge the outcome in court,” he said.

According to him, the party has adopted a collective and inclusive approach targeted at securing victories for all its candidates, from the presidency to councillorship positions.

“For the first time, everyone is working together with a common purpose. We are mobilising across the grassroots to ensure the success of all our candidates.

“When we have leaders who truly represent the people, development and opportunities will naturally follow,” Olatunji added.

The ward tour also witnessed the announcement of the Oyo State Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, as Chairman of the Campaign Council for Olatunji’s House of Representatives bid as well as that of the member representing Oluyole State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo.

Speaking at the event, Mogbonjubola welcomed the new entrants into the party and commended members for sustaining grassroots engagement, which he described as critical to the party’s electoral prospects.

Also addressing supporters, the APM Chairman in Oluyole Local Government, Alhaji Nasiru Hamzat, urged members to remain united and committed to the party’s vision and ideals.

He stressed that loyalty, discipline and teamwork would be instrumental to the party’s success, assuring members that greater opportunities and dividends of good governance would accrue to the people if APM candidates emerge victorious in future elections.

The mobilisation exercise attracted several party leaders and stakeholders, including Hon. Waheed Akintayo, former Oluyole Local Government Chairman; Hon. Olaide Popoola, immediate past party chairman; Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, Vice Chairman of Oluyole Local Government; Hon. Niyi Akorede, former council chairman; Hon. Kehinde Abore, former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly; Hon. Lukman Salawu, Hon. Akinsanmi Ajao, ward chairmen, political appointees, women groups and other party supporters.
