The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State Chapter, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the strategic acquisition and delivery of an aircraft to further strengthen the security architecture of Oyo State.
Describing the development as a landmark investment in the safety and security of the people, Hon. Oyedele said the Governor’s decision reflects visionary leadership and a firm commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
In a statement issued by the Information Officer of Egbeda Local Government, Carew Sherifat Jumoke, the council chairman noted that the deployment of aerial security assets would significantly enhance intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance and rapid response to security threats, while also improving the operational effectiveness of security agencies across Oyo State.
According to him, the aircraft will serve as a critical tool in combating criminal activities, particularly in difficult-to-access areas, thereby reinforcing the state’s position as one of the safest destinations for residents, investors and visitors.
Hon. Oyedele further stated that a secure environment remains the foundation for sustainable economic growth, agricultural productivity and infrastructural development, stressing that Governor Makinde’s latest investment is a clear demonstration of his administration’s proactive approach to governance.
He urged residents of Egbeda Local Government and Oyo State to continue supporting the Makinde-led administration by remaining vigilant and cooperating with security agencies through the provision of timely and credible information that will aid efforts to combat crime and maintain lasting peace.
The council boss also reaffirmed the commitment of the Egbeda Local Government administration to complement the state’s security initiatives through community-based security strategies, grassroots engagement and sustained collaboration with security agencies.
He expressed confidence that the acquisition of the aircraft would further strengthen Oyo State’s capacity to respond swiftly to emerging security challenges and consolidate the peace and stability required for continued socio-economic development.
