Governor Seyi Makinde has commissioned the newly renovated Executive Chairman’s Office at the Ibadan South West Local Government Secretariat, describing the project as a step toward improved service delivery at the grassroots.
The edifice was commissioned on behalf of the state government by the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Honourable Mojeed Mogbonjubola, who described the office as “extraordinary” and befitting of the council’s number one office.
Hon. Mogbonjubola said the new facility reflects Governor Makinde’s commitment to providing a conducive working environment for local government administrators to serve the people better.
The event drew a large crowd of political leaders, government functionaries and stakeholders.
Leading the delegation was the member representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Dhikirulai Adedeji Olajide, popularly known as Odidi-Omo, who stormed the venue with his full entourage.
Other dignitaries at the commissioning included Oloye Nureni Akanbi, Alhaji Tajudeen Aleshinloye, Alhaja Bose Adedibu, Executive Adviser to the Governor on Intra-Party Affairs, Hon. Abiodun Baruwa, Pastor Biodun Popoola, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Hon. Olakunle Akinshete, Hon.Abiola Ayorinde, Hon. Abiodun Ekolo, Hon. Moruf Balogun, Hon. Kunle Folarin, and Hon. Babatunde George Ige, BGI.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West LG, Hon. Kehinde Akande, appreciated everyone present and explained the reasons behind the construction of the new executive chairman’s office.
He said the renovation was aimed at creating a modern, functional and dignified workspace that will enhance efficiency, record keeping and citizen engagement in the council.
The Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Tajudeen Adigun, popularly known as ATU, also appreciated all who attended the event for their support and solidarity.
Also present was the Head of Local Government Administration, HLGA, Alhaji Olagunju, who led other career officials of the council to the venue.
The commissioning was greeted with commendations from residents and stakeholders who described the new office as a boost to governance in Ibadan South West Local Government.
