

The Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, has been conferred with the prestigious Humanitarian Service Award by the Rotary Club of Ibadan-Elebu Metropolis.
The honour was presented by Rotarian Adewale Adesina, the newly invested 7th President of the club, who commended Kamorudeen’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of residents in Lagelu and beyond.

Adesina described the council boss as “a beacon of hope and a true servant of the people,” noting his people-focused leadership and collaboration with humanitarian organizations. He added that the recognition reflects the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”

Under Kamorudeen’s leadership, Lagelu Local Government has recorded strides in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. His administration has provided clean water to underserved communities, supported indigent students with educational initiatives, and championed empowerment programmes for youth and women. His hands-on approach during crises has also earned him public admiration.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Kamorudeen expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club, dedicating the award to the people of Lagelu. “This award is not just for me but for every individual who has supported our vision of a thriving community,” he said, pledging to deepen his efforts in service delivery.
The Rotary Humanitarian Service Award is one of the club’s highest recognitions, reserved for individuals whose selfless contributions have created lasting impact in society.
