The Polytechnic, Ibadan has appointed Mrs. Olufunto Abimbola Ojewunmi, a Senior Deputy Registrar in the institution as the Acting Registrar following the retirement of the former Acting Registrar, Mr. Joseph Adewumi Ogunjimi who attained the statutory retirement age of 65 years.
Until her appointment, Mrs. Ojewunmi was in charge of Personnel in the institution.
Mrs. Ojewunmi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from University of Lagos. She was born in Ibadan into the Fadipe family and joined the service of The Polytechnic, Ibadan as an Administrative Officer in 1992 and rose through the ranks to the position of senior Deputy Registrar.
In the course of her career, she served in various capacities, including faculties where she was Faculty Officer at different times, with her last posting at the Faculty of Science before she was deployed to the Personnel Unit as Deputy Registrar (Personnel). Mrs. Ojewunmi also served as Deputy Registrar, Continuing Education Centre (CEC).
Mrs. Ojewunmi also represented the Rector of the institution as acting Chairman of the Governing Board of The Polytechnic, Ibadan High School for a number of years.
Mrs. Ojewunmi is a professional member of the Association of Higher Education Professionals and the Association of University Administrators both based in the United Kingdom.
Her appointment takes effect from 23rd March, 2026. The appointment as approved by the Governing Council is for an initial period of six months.
Mrs. Ojewunmi is a devoted Christian, happily married and blessed with children.
