As Christians across Oyo State and indeed the world commemorate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I extend my warmest felicitations to all the faithful on this sacred occasion of Easter.
Easter remains a profound symbol of sacrifice, redemption, and hope. It is a reminder of the victory of light over darkness and life over death. As it is written in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.” This powerful message calls for deep reflection, renewed faith, and unwavering commitment to righteousness.

I urge all Christians in Oyo State to use this solemn period as a time for deep spiritual introspection, compassion, and recommitment to the values of love, peace, and unity. As admonished in Romans 12:18, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” These virtues are essential not only for personal growth but also for the progress of our society.

Oyo State remains a home for all irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or political inclination. Governance must continue to reflect fairness, inclusivity, and tangible benefits for every citizen. It is only through collective responsibility and equitable leadership that we can build a state that works for all and leaves no one behind.
While we celebrate, it is important not to lose sight of the realities facing our nation. The persistence of insecurity in parts of the country continues to cause pain and uncertainty among our people. Recent tragic developments in Jos, among other areas, serve as sobering reminders of the urgent need for responsive and proactive measures to safeguard lives and property.
There is a growing expectation among Nigerians that those entrusted with the responsibility of national security must listen more attentively and act more decisively in addressing these concerns.
As we mark this holy season, may the spirit of the resurrection inspire hope in our hearts, strengthen our unity, and guide our leaders toward justice and compassion.
I wish all Christians in Oyo State a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Easter celebration.
