Residents of Ibadan South West Local Government have received a boost in healthcare access following the commissioning of two newly built and equipped Primary Health Centres at Akuro PHC, Ward 5, and Bode PHC, Ward 4.

The facilities were commissioned by the Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Akande. He assured the council and community members that the centres would be put to effective use and properly maintained to serve the people.

WDC Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Sulayman Ogunbayode, commended Hon. Akande for delivering the projects. He said the establishment of the two health centres adds value to the community and demonstrates commitment to improving primary healthcare at the grassroots level.

Hon. Ogunbayode appreciated all stakeholders who made the commissioning possible. He acknowledged the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, the Chairman of Ibadan South West LG, the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, the Medical Officer of Health for Ibadan South West, health officers, political appointees, councilors from Ward 1 to 12, the CDC Ibadan South West, and members of the WDC Ibadan South West.

Dr. Adewole from the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, representing Executive Secretary Dr. Muideen Olatunji, appealed to residents to take full advantage of the new facilities. He assured that the era of “no staff and no drugs” at primary health centres is over, and that drugs and qualified health officials are now readily available at facilities across the state.
