Youths from Oyo State have thrown their weight behind the presidential aspiration of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, with a massive mobilisation at the commissioning of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Headquarters in Abuja.

The Oyo delegation, led by the Director of Youth Mobilisation, Makinde/Adekanmbi Campaign Council, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, turned out in large numbers for the event, signalling what campaign supporters described as growing enthusiasm among young Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists after the commissioning, Bolarinwa said Nigeria was in need of a fundamental political and economic reset, arguing that Makinde possessed the experience, leadership capacity and governance record required to provide a new direction for the country.

According to him, Makinde’s administration in Oyo State has demonstrated the qualities of a servant leadership committed to delivering development and responding to the needs of the people.

“Nigeria is due for a reset, and a servant leader like His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, is the best fit for this crucial assignment,” Bolarinwa said.

He added that the political atmosphere ahead of the 2027 elections indicated that Nigerians were increasingly determined to use their votes to influence the direction of the country.

“With the atmosphere across the country, Nigerians are charged and ready to speak with their votes come 2027. They are ready to vote for their own, an Omoluabi and a precedent leader in the person of Seyi Makinde,” he said.

Bolarinwa cited what he described as the Makinde administration’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic development and youth empowerment as evidence of the governor’s capacity to provide effective leadership beyond Oyo State.

He argued that the governor’s performance at the state level had offered a practical demonstration of what purposeful and people-oriented governance could achieve.

The youth mobilisation director further maintained that young Nigerians were yearning for leadership capable of restoring hope, strengthening the economy and creating meaningful opportunities for the younger generation.

He therefore urged youths across the country to take ownership of the 2027 electoral process by actively participating in voter registration, political engagement and, ultimately, the exercise of their franchise.

Bolarinwa expressed confidence that the strong presence of Oyo youths at the Abuja campaign headquarters commissioning reflected growing support for Makinde’s presidential ambition, adding that the mobilisation would intensify as the 2027 elections draw closer.

The event, he said, marked another step in efforts to build a nationwide youth-driven political movement around the governor’s presidential aspiration.
