Justice in Transition: Reimagining Nigeria’s Judiciary for the Digital Age, Public Trust and Effective Justice Delivery

PUBLIC INVITATION | AWARENESS | CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

The Judiciary Arm of the National Association of Oyo State Students (NAOS National) is pleased to invite students, legal practitioners, academics, policymakers, civil society actors, technology enthusiasts, student leaders and members of the general public to the NAOS Judiciary Summit 2026, organised in honour of Barr. Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu.

Scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, the summit will provide a dynamic platform for intellectual engagement, critical reflection and meaningful dialogue on the present realities and future direction of Nigeria’s justice system.

⚖️ WHY THIS SUMMIT MATTERS

Nigeria’s justice system is undergoing a period of significant transition. From the increasing influence of digital technology to growing conversations around access to justice, judicial efficiency, institutional credibility and public confidence, the need for informed and forward-looking conversations has never been greater.

The NAOS Judiciary Summit 2026 seeks to bring together young Nigerians and key stakeholders to examine these developments, interrogate existing practices and explore practical ideas capable of contributing to a more accessible, trusted, efficient and technologically responsive judiciary.

The summit will particularly examine:

⚖️ The Digital Judiciary: How can Nigeria’s courts and justice institutions effectively embrace technology without compromising fairness, due process and judicial independence?

🇳🇬 The Judiciary of Tomorrow: What should Nigeria’s justice system look like in an increasingly digital, interconnected and rapidly changing society?

🗣️ THE CENTRAL THEME

“JUSTICE IN TRANSITION: REIMAGINING NIGERIA’S JUDICIARY FOR THE DIGITAL AGE, PUBLIC TRUST AND EFFECTIVE JUSTICE DELIVERY.”

This is more than a student programme. It is a platform for learning, questioning, debate, networking and the exchange of ideas.

It is an opportunity for young Nigerians to engage with contemporary issues surrounding justice, democracy, human rights, technology and institutional development—and to contribute their voices to conversations that will shape the Nigeria of tomorrow.

Because the future of justice cannot be left exclusively to the courtroom.
