Residents across the five Ibadan local government areas and Ibarapa zone have called on the Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Oba Sarafadeen Alli, to give a detailed account of his projects and interventions since assuming office.
The call was made during separate town hall meetings and community engagements held in Ibadan South West, Ibadan South East, Ibadan North, Ibadan North East, Ibadan North West, and across Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North last week.

Community leaders, youth groups and market associations said it is important for the senator to list what he has done in each local government and explain his plans for the remaining part of his tenure.

What residents are asking for
In Ibadan South West and Ibadan South East, residents requested updates on constituency projects, empowerment programs, healthcare interventions and road rehabilitation.
In Ibadan North, Ibadan North East and Ibadan North West, participants asked for clarity on scholarship schemes, youth employment initiatives, and support for small businesses.
In Ibarapa zone, community representatives said the people deserve to know what has been attracted to the area in terms of infrastructure, agriculture support, and security interventions.
“If Ibarapa people cannot seek for your account as Senator of Oyo South Senatorial District, then who will? We voted for representation and development. List what you have done in Ibadan South West, Ibadan South East, Ibadan North, Ibadan North East and Ibadan North West, as well as in Ibarapa,” a community leader in Ibarapa Central said.
The expectation
Residents noted that periodic account of stewardship is a standard democratic practice. They said such a report will help the people measure impact, identify gaps, and make informed decisions ahead of future elections.
Some of the specific areas residents want addressed include:
- Constituency projects executed and their locations
- Federal appointments and job opportunities facilitated for indigenes
- Support for education, health and agriculture
- Intervention on electricity, water and road infrastructure
- Empowerment programs for women and youth
Political observers say the demand reflects growing civic awareness in Oyo South, where constituents are increasingly asking elected representatives to be transparent and accessible.
Senator Oba Sarafadeen Alli represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly. The district covers nine local government areas: the five Ibadan LGAs and the four Ibarapa LGAs.
Residents say they look forward to the senator’s account so they can jointly assess progress and set new priorities for the district.
