The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property with the donation of a brand-new motorcycle to the Oyo State Amotekun Corps operating in Ward 5, Alagbagba, Olona Mosque axis of Ibadan North Local Government.
The motorcycle, presented to the security outfit on Friday, is aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and rapid response capability of the Amotekun Corps within the Alagbagba community and neighbouring wards.
Presenting the motorcycle on behalf of the chairman, the head of local government administration, Ibadan north local government, Deacon Olabode Ajebisi said the donation reflects Hon. Olufade’s unwavering commitment to strengthening grassroots security and supporting security agencies with the tools needed to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
According to him, the chairman places a high premium on the security of lives and property, noting that peace and safety remain essential pillars for sustainable development in every community.
He commended the Amotekun Corps for its dedication, professionalism and tireless efforts in maintaining law and order, preventing crime and handling security challenges with maturity and discipline.
Ajebisi further assured the security outfit of the local government’s continued partnership and support, stressing that the Olufade-led administration would always remain responsive to initiatives that promote peace, security and community development.
Receiving the motorcycle, officers of the Amotekun Corps expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Olufade for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention.
They praised the council chairman as a leader who prioritises the protection of lives and property, adding that the donation would significantly improve their patrol operations and emergency response within Ward 5 and adjoining communities.
The officers pledged to put the motorcycle to effective use solely for security operations and assured residents of their continued commitment to protecting lives, maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of all.
