The Oyo State Government has announced the appointment of Associate Professor of statistics, from Ladoke Akintola University Technology LAUTECH, ogbomoso Dr. Taiwo Lasisi ABIDEEN and Dr. Taiwo Sherifat Olajide as the substantive Rector and Registrar of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
The appointment as approved by Governor Seyi Makinde and conveyed in a letter issued by the state government and obtained by Oyoparrot.com
Before their appointments, Dr. Taiwo Lasisi has been in acting capacity going to two years with tremendous achievements, such as Stable and predictable academic calendar, cleared backlog of graduating sets, timely and availability of students result on individual portal, cleared staffs backlog of salaries, allowances and bonuses, stable electricity within the campus, management, Staffs and Students friendly policies, and relationships, serene and clean environment, Unions and Management peaceful relationship, prudence and above all accountability with open doors accessibility to all
Meanwhile Dr. Olajide served as the institution’s Deputy Registrar, Admissions, where she played a key role in overseeing admission processes and academic administration.
She also previously served as the Faculty Officer, Faculty of Financial Management Studies (FFMS), contributing to the administrative development of one of the institution’s major faculties.
Others approved and announced as substantive principal officers for The Polytechnic, Ibadan are Mr. Adegbola Abiodun Kolawole as Bursar, and Mr. Osunrinade Olukunle Akinbola as Librarian.
The appointments take effect from July 31, 2026, with each officer to serve a single tenure of five years.
The appointments also bring to an end years of acting leadership in the affected principal offices at the institution.
