The Nigerian Union of Tailors (NUT) and the Aluminium Professionals Association (ALPA), Oluyole Local Government chapters in Oyo State, have endorsed and adopted the candidacy of Engr. Akeem Olatunji, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The two associations made their positions known during separate engagements with Olatunji during the week, where they pledged their support for his candidacy and promised to mobilise their members for the 2027 general elections.

The ALPA Oluyole chapter, under the leadership of its Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Abdul Rosheed, also conferred the title of Grand Patron on Olatunji in recognition of his support for the association.

Speaking on behalf of ALPA, Rosheed declared the association’s support for Olatunji, describing him as a politician who had demonstrated genuine interest in the welfare and development of its members.
“We, ALPA in Oluyole LG, hereby declare our full support for Engr. Akeem Olatunji as our candidate for the House of Representatives, Oluyole Federal Constituency. We also proudly recognise and honour him as our Patron,” he said.
Rosheed said Olatunji was the first politician, according to the association, to recognise and appreciate the potential of its members at a time when many others allegedly overlooked them.
“Engr. Akeem Olatunji is the first politician to truly recognise and appreciate the potential of our association.
“At a time when many politicians did not see the value and potential in us, Engr. Akeem saw what we could become, believed in us, and supported us when we needed him,” he added.
He said ALPA members would not forget Olatunji’s support, pledging to reciprocate by voting for him and mobilising members across the constituency.
“We will never forget his gesture and commitment to our association. As a team, we therefore pledge to reciprocate his support by giving him our votes and mobilising our members to stand firmly behind his candidacy,” Rosheed said.
He added that the association was proud to identify with Olatunji and expressed its readiness to work with him towards the progress and development of the people.
Similarly, the Nigerian Union of Tailors, Oluyole Local Government chapter, led by its Chairman, Mr. Moruff Eleshin, and Chairlady, Mrs. Olulayo Adeoye, endorsed Olatunji’s candidacy.
Eleshin said Olatunji’s accessibility and relationship with members of the association had earned him their confidence and support.
“Engr. Akeem is also one of us, and he has always been accessible to everyone. This is the time to reciprocate his support with our votes, not just by voting for him, but by mobilising and canvassing for him,” he said.
The NUT chairman said Olatunji had consistently demonstrated respect for people irrespective of their social or economic status.
“He has been supportive and has never looked down on anyone, regardless of their status. Now is the time for us to stand by him and give him our full support,” Eleshin added.
The two associations also pledged to work tirelessly for the success of Olatunji and other APM candidates in the 2027 elections.
In his brief remarks, Olatunji expressed appreciation for the confidence and trust reposed in him and promised not to let them down with their mandate come 2027.
Olatunji, who is the current executive chairman of Oluyole local government noted that his years of experience in grassroots politics and mobilization has adequately prepared him for the job maintained that he will not derail from the overall vision of governor Seyi Makinde for the development of Oyo state.
He described Makinde as his visionary, pragmatic, and his personal political mentor, whose political ideology has greatly impacted his worldview and approach to governance.
He urged the various unions to take the gospel of the good governance under the present administration to every corner of Oluyole federal constituency and to educate electorate on the need to protect and safeguard their votes against inducement of any form.
