Former Chairman of Orire Local Government and former member of the Governing Council of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Hon. Adekunle Bankole, has commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his confidence in appointing him as Chairman of the Oyo State Hospital Management Board.
Bankole described the appointment as a significant responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing transformation of the state’s healthcare sector, pledging to complement the administration’s efforts and help sustain the gains recorded under Governor Makinde.
The grassroots politician, who hails from the Orire Local Government axis of Ogbomoso, said the progress being witnessed in the state’s health sector reflects the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure, strengthening service delivery and enhancing the welfare of residents.
According to him, the developments in the sector deserve commendation, while the new responsibility offers him an opportunity to contribute directly to the consolidation of the governor’s healthcare agenda.
“I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for finding me worthy of this responsibility. I see this appointment not merely as a position, but as a call to service and an opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of our people.
“Governor Makinde has demonstrated commitment to the transformation of the health sector, and my pledge is to complement his efforts, sustain the gains already recorded and contribute fresh ideas that will further improve healthcare delivery across Oyo State,” he said.
Bankole brings to the assignment experience in local government administration and institutional governance, having previously served as Chairman of Orire Local Government and as a member of the Governing Council of LAUTECH.
His political network extends across the five Local Government Areas in the Ogbomoso zone, where he has maintained strong grassroots relationships and engagement with community stakeholders.
The new Hospital Management Board chairman also reaffirmed his commitment to the development of young people, particularly the emerging generation of energetic youths across Ogbomoso and Oyo State.
He said youth empowerment, inclusion and opportunities for meaningful participation in governance remained essential to building a stronger society, pledging to continue supporting initiatives that encourage young people to contribute positively to community development.
Bankole further assured Governor Makinde that he would deploy his experience, grassroots connections and institutional knowledge in advancing the objectives of the Hospital Management Board.
He pledged to work closely with healthcare professionals, government officials and other stakeholders to strengthen the state’s hospitals and support policies capable of delivering improved healthcare services to the people.
The former Orire council boss also called for collective support for the administration’s healthcare initiatives, stressing that sustaining progress in the sector requires cooperation among government institutions, healthcare workers, communities and other stakeholders.
He reiterated his appreciation to Governor Makinde and assured the people of Oyo State of his readiness to serve with dedication, accountability and a strong sense of responsibility.
