The panel session examined how technological innovation could improve judicial administration, reduce delays and strengthen access to justice while preserving the fundamental principles of fairness, independence and due process.

The discussants explored the potential of digital case management, electronic filing, virtual court proceedings and improved digital access to legal information to make judicial services more efficient and accessible.

They also highlighted the challenges associated with digital transformation, including inadequate infrastructure, limited digital literacy, data protection concerns and unequal access to technology.

On public confidence in the judiciary, the panel emphasised that trust is built through transparency, professionalism, impartiality and the consistent application of the law, irrespective of an individual’s financial status, social standing or personal connections.

The panel further highlighted the importance of making justice accessible to disadvantaged individuals and communities who may face financial, geographical or institutional barriers to obtaining legal assistance.

Ashamu inspires students on integrity, leadership and service

A major highlight of the summit was the address delivered by the honouree, Barr. Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, who encouraged students to remain committed to academic excellence, personal development and the pursuit of meaningful goals.

His message emphasised discipline, determination, integrity and continuous learning as essential qualities for young people aspiring to make a difference in their communities and the country.

He also underscored the importance of leadership as a responsibility rooted in service, character and the willingness to contribute positively to society, rather than merely occupying positions of authority or seeking public recognition.

His remarks encouraged students aspiring to careers in law, public administration, entrepreneurship, politics and other professions to prepare themselves adequately, seek mentorship and remain focused despite the challenges they may encounter.

The address also reinforced the need for experienced professionals to guide and inspire younger generations by sharing knowledge, providing mentorship and creating opportunities for youth development.
