IBSW Council Chair, Akande Inspects Oja’ba-Orita Merin Road, Assures Sound Continuity With APM  In Oyo

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Honourable Kehinde Akande, on Monday inspected the ongoing road construction spanning from Oja’ba Junction through Ita Fijabi to Oritamerin Junction, assuring traders and residents of sustained development under the present administration.

During the inspection, Hon. Akande engaged with marketers and community members along the route, reaffirming the local government’s commitment to delivering durable infrastructure to ease movement of goods and people.  

“We are here to ensure quality and speed on this Oja’ba-Oritamerin road project. Our marketers deserve accessible roads to boost commerce, and this administration will not relent,” Akande said.  

He further assured traders of effective continuity with the agenda of the Allied Peoples Movement in Oyo State, stressing that grassroots development remains a priority. “Our party, the Allied Peoples Movement, is committed to consolidating on progress across Oyo State. The people of Ibadan South West will feel more impact in the coming months,” he added.  

Hon. Akande also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership, noting that the Governor remains dedicated to the welfare of residents. “Governor Seyi Makinde will continue to do well for the good people of Ibadan South West Local Government. We are aligned with the state’s vision for infrastructure and economic growth,” he stated.

Traders at Oja’ba Market who interacted with the Chairman expressed optimism that the road, once completed, would reduce post-harvest losses and improve access along the Oja’ba, Ita Fijabi,Oritamerin corridor.  

The Oja’ba-Oritamerin road is one of several intra-local government projects currently being monitored by the council to enhance connectivity within commercial corridors in Ibadan South West.
